Financial Aid

Students who are academically suspended and received financial aid will also face financial aid suspension.

Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)

Financial Aid policy requires students to maintain 2.0 GPA and a minimum expectation of 70% completion of the current term in order to make good SATISFACTORY ACADEMIC PROGRESS.

Students are encouraged to check current course status and to predict their future “Satisfactory Academic Progress,” or SAP, by using the following steps:

  1. Log into Cyberbear at http://cyberbear.umt.edu
  2. Go to Student Services
  3. Financial Aid
  4. My Eligibility
  5. Predict my SAP
    1. The student enters the grades that she or he estimates for the semester.
    2. At the bottom, the student’s predicted SAP status will be displayed.

The student can easily predict course grades and determine whether he or she should continue working in a class, or if he or she should investigate dropping the course or changing the grading option.
